We long for rest. The desire in and of itself isn't bad. In fact, it's one of the first thing that God promises the believer in Scripture. It would even be fair to say that the hope of rest is intrinsic to the gospel itself. And yet, it is still possible to have a distorted understanding of rest, which will confuse and undermine our faith. How ought the Christian think about the prospect of rest?
