Baptism is a declaration of many things, but if all the things it represents were distilled into one, simple concept, then it may said that baptism is a symbolic declaration of a new believer’s identification with Christ. At baptism, a person declares that they have become a disciple of Jesus Christ and now identify completely with Him.
