About This Sermon
It is assumed that ambition is an attitude antithetical to Christianity. Christ commands His followers to deny self, take up their cross, and follow Him (Matt. 16:24-28). And yet, at the same time, in passages like Matthew 19:27-20:16 He will encourage His followers to surrender the riches of this life in exchange for eternal reward. How do these two ideas go together? How can we both deny self and seek out heavenly treasure? Ryan explains in the following message from Matthew 20:17-28 entitled "Godly Ambition."
