About This Sermon

Leprosy – or, as it is referred to today, Hansen’s disease – was and is a horrific disease. It essentially destroys a person from the inside out as it attacks the nerves in a person’s extremities, causing them to severely injure themselves without even feeling it. And yet, when a leper comes to Jesus and falls at His feet in Matthew 8, he doesn’t ask Jesus to be made well. Rather he says, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” What does he mean by this statement? Why would he request to be made clean, and what does it tell us about the significance of the subsequent miraculous healing by Jesus? Ryan explains in the following message, “Kingdom Cleansing.”
