About This Sermon

There is little doubt that sex is an increasingly dominant influence in our culture. You can hardly turn on the television or radio without seeing or hearing explicit descriptions of sex. Sex is the ultimate attention-getter. It is the ultimate persuader. It is used to sell anything from cars to deodorant; from something as benign as fabric softener to something as common as a hamburger. And yet, in His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explains that even a single occurrence of lustful thought is worthy of eternal judgment in Hell, and He demands that everyone who would enter into heaven to repent of every single occurrence of sexual sin in their lives. What instructions does Jesus give for this repentance process? What does repentance from lust look like, and how can we pursue it? Ryan explains in the final part of this three-part message from Matthew 5:27-30.
